Director, Legal Financial Operations

We are seeking a strategic financial leader to help design and mature the financial operating model for our Legal organization.

As Director Legal Financial Operations you will serve as a trusted advisor to Legal leadership shaping financial strategy and enabling better decisions through disciplined planning forecasting analytics and governance. You will collaborate across Legal Operations and with enterprise partnersincluding Finance Accounting and Global Risk Managementto strengthen financial transparency improve forecasting accuracy and build scalable capabilities that support long-term organizational performance.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role with significant enterprise impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Legal organizations budgeting forecasting accrual and annual financial planning processes.
• Develop and deliver financial reporting dashboards and analytics that provide meaningful insights into legal spend and operational performance.
• Partner with Legal leadership and enterprise stakeholders to provide financial analysis and recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor financial performance identify trends and support resource planning and allocation decisions.
• Establish and maintain financial governance processes to improve the accuracy consistency and transparency of Legal financial data.
• Leverage Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) and e-billing technologies to support reporting analytics and operational decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to simplify standardize and enhance financial and operational processes.
• Support strategic Legal Operations initiatives and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Economics Legal Operations or a related field.
• 8 years of experience in Legal Operations legal finance financial planning and analysis business operations financial operations accounting or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting a Legal department law firm Legal Operations organization or legal spend management function strongly desired.
• Experience leading budgeting forecasting accrual management financial reporting variance analysis and financial planning activities.
• Candidates with significant business operations or financial operations experience in a complex enterprise environment will also be considered.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders drive decision-making identify cost-saving opportunities and translate complex data into actionable business insights.
• Experience working collaboratively across multiple functions and levels of leadership.
• Experience utilizing Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) and e-billing technologies including TeamConnect Collaborati CounselLink Legal Tracker or similar platforms.
• MBA CPA CMA or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
• This position is open to remote and office-based candidates across the U.S. with a preference for candidates located near a The Cigna Group office.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130100 - 216900 USD / yearly depending on relevant factors including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
