Schedule: 1st shift

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the functionality of buildings and grounds. Primary responsibilities for role:

• Accept Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Work Orders; determine course of action and oversee to completion
• Plan/coordinate/schedule/supervise contractor work in the completion of projects and facility repairs
• Request, accept, compare bid proposals, and issue purchase orders
• Responsible for troubleshooting/repair/preventive maintenance of all facility-related equipment
• Manage ground maintenance/janitorial/extermination and other facility contracts
• Perform mold detection/remediation
• Support Project/Shutdown work such as architectural (floors, walls, roofing, plumbing) repairs and upgrades/alterations
• Create and modify drawings
• Issue/complete job hazard analysis/safe work permits (hot work, excavating, confined space, hazardous atmosphere, etc.)
• May assist in writing the scope of work for Production Change Control Requests
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document activity
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Utility Operations Procedures, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, job plans and/or equipment manuals to perform work
• Adhere to cGMP, Safety, and Environmental procedures
• Responsible for maintaining training curriculum requirements
• Communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form

Technician I:

• Develop knowledge and skills needed perform job as required by the area of responsibility
• Complete job assignments/projects of limited scope within a timely manner, under supervision
• Possess basic facilities maintenance skills, building automation systems, electrical, HVAC, utilities, plumbing, hydraulics, building and grounds knowledge
• Able to work effectively as a team member
• Use personal computers and have experience with Window applications and Web based programs
• Read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals
• Demonstrate strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply this knowledge to the various tasks assigned
• Understand current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements
• Understand industrial plant safety and environmental requirements

Requirements:

• Associates degree in a relevant technical field
• 2 years relevant experience

Technician II:

• Perform all responsibilities as defined in previous job level
• This job level requires proficiency in most areas of responsibility
• May perform training of other technicians in areas of proficiency as needed
• Able to work independently
• Able to make decisions within agreed upon area of responsibility

Requirements:

• Associates degree in a relevant technical field
• 4 years relevant experience

Technician III:

• Perform all responsibilities as defined in previous job level
• This job level requires proficiency in all areas of responsibility
• Perform as a team leader
• Responsible for training of other technicians
• Oversee service preventive maintenance contracts and service agreements
• Supervise contract employees
• Plan, coordinate, schedule and supervise projects/repairs to completion
• Understand the structure of and capable of writing maintenance instructions

Requirements:

• Associates degree in a relevant technical field
• 6 years relevant experience

Occupational Demands:

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment or warehouse with rotating shifts
• Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms
• Exposure to chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment, hand tools and moving machinery
• Operates forklifts, tractors and power equipment
• Exposure to high levels of noise and to dust/gas/fumes/steam
• Exposure to extreme cold below 32* and on occasion, exposure to extreme heat above 100*
• Exposure to vibration or oscillating movements of the extremities or the whole body
• Occasional entry into confined spaces, requiring kneeling, crawling, climbing and squatting
• Works at heights on scaffolding and/or on ladders
• Walks on uneven ground
• Personal protective equipment required such as; protective eyewear, chemical suits, safety shoes and/or rubber footwear, gloves, hearing protection and a respirator
• Heavy lifting and carrying of 45lbs. for up to 6-8 hours per day, with a maximum lift of 75lbs.
• Work is performed standing, walking, bending and twisting waist for 4-6 hours per day
• Frequent foot movements
• Occasionally reaches above and below shoulder height
• Occasionally bends and twists neck
• Frequent hand movements with simple grasping of one hand with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
• Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects
• Hearing acuity essential
• Color perception/discrimination, depth perception and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye
• Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences
• Performs a wide range of complex tasks
• Adheres to a work schedule to meet production standards
