Heavy Equipment TechnicianSubmit your information for future Heavy Equipment Technician opportunities, both internships and full-time, at our Indiana locations.West Side Tractor Sales Service Technician Service Department Reports To: Service Manager Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer owned equipment.Job Duties:Diagnosis, recondition and repair of equipment and componentsParticipates in training programs for the development of skills and knowledgeMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned dutiesParticipates in West Side's Safety ProgramCompletes training assigned by managerOther duties as assignedExperience, Education, Skills & Knowledge:Technical school certificate or equivalent work experiencePrevious heavy equipment technician experience preferredStrong mechanical skills; good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functionsStrong diagnostic skillsAble to work with minimal supervisionAbility to work as a team memberComputer skills in data entry, basic navigation and InternetValid driver's license and acceptable driving record based upon company policyPhysical Requirements of this position:Ability to lift, manipulate, and move items weighing upwards of 50 lbs. repeatedlyMust be able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, kneel and squat as required by assigned taskNoise level is generally loudExposure to dust, fumes, gases and chemicalsRegularly works near moving mechanical partsRequires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
