Job Title: Maintenance Technician II – Mechanical & Robotics
Job Description

This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment in a fast-paced facility. You will perform predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and controls issues, and help ensure reliable operation of complex automation systems while mentoring junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
• Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems throughout the building.
• Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, including mechanical and controls-related problems.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to perform accurate repairs and installations.
• Use maintenance management and computer-based systems (such as CMMS and Microsoft Office applications) to document work, track maintenance activities, and analyze data.
• Support conveyor maintenance and automation systems, ensuring they operate safely and effectively.
• Apply safety standards consistently while performing all maintenance tasks and promote a strong safety culture within the team.
• Mentor junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and safe work procedures.
• Collaborate with the operations and project teams to support continuous improvement initiatives, including data analysis and process optimization.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays, to support operational needs.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications.
• At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment.
• At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• At least 2 years of experience demonstrating and applying safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
• At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment (MHE).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Strong ability to interpret technical documentation and follow detailed procedures.
• Capability to move up to 49 lbs and stand and walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning.
• Hands-on experience with conveyor maintenance and automation systems.
• Familiarity with control systems and related troubleshooting.
• Exposure to data analysis and project management in a maintenance or operations setting.
• Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.
• Ability to mentor and support junior technicians in a team environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large, automated facility that operates around the clock to support high-volume material handling and distribution. You will work around conveyors, material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging technologies. Shifts may last up to 12 hours, and you will regularly stand and walk for extended periods and move items weighing up to 49 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. The schedule requires flexibility, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The environment emphasizes safety, with fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes provided as part of the standard attire.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Victorville, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
