Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior ICU experience.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to step-down unit as needed within scope
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• Cares for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure requiring airway management and IV drip titration

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent SICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory/thoracic care
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and vasoactive drip titration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to critically ill surgical ICU patients including airway and hemodynamic management
• Participate in emergency response activities as needed, including natural disaster support
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
• RTO requests up to 7 days can be auto-approved; anything beyond requires additional approval
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous staff must have a 2-year gap since separation to return as a travel clinician
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
