Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the ER, including triage, treatment, and discharge planning for patients from newborns to geriatrics
- Perform rapid assessments, monitor vital signs, interpret ECG rhythms, and respond to life-threatening emergencies
- Administer medications and IV therapies, manage indwelling catheters and drains, and ensure safe use of critical care equipment
- Review and complete orders in a timely manner; deliver medication teaching and discharge instructions to patients and families
- Collaborate with ED team, follow established chain of command, and participate in Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations as needed
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record and ensure thorough handoffs between shifts

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Education: Associate Degree (A.S.) required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: At least two years of recent nursing experience; one year in acute care required
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire or transfer; NIHSS
- Additional: Current EPIC experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency department and to meet night-shift requirements
