Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity places you in a supportive environment in South Austin, working with a small caseload of just seven students to help foster independence and maximize individual strengths. You’ll be part of a collaborative team committed to personalized instruction and growth.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid Texas Special Education Teacher Certification (TX SPED License)
- Experience working in life skills or self-contained special education settings preferred
- Ability to adapt curriculum to meet individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Dedication to creating an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for a group of elementary students in a life skills classroom
- Develop, modify, and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Monitor and document academic and behavioral progress
- Foster a safe, supportive space that encourages students’ social, emotional, and functional skill development
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and hands-on activities to promote engagement and meaningful learning
This full-time contract position offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the rewarding opportunity to impact the lives of young learners each day.
