Shift Supervisor

Production Foreman The Production Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily production on the shop floor. This includes employee supervision and/or coaching, meeting manpower requirements and placements, as well as on-the-job training for employees. Duties and Responsibilities: Meet daily workforce and scheduling requirements, manage absentee coverage. Overall performance measures of the shift. Provide on-the-job training to employees. Maintain and uphold all quality standards of the organization, including enforcing all policies and procedures regarding safety, quality, housekeeping, attendance, conduct, drug free safety program, etc. Maintain an accurate record of all production activities. Evaluate team performance. Interact with other departments when necessary to ensure proper system function. Troubleshoot process, equipment and quality problems to facilitate maximizing efficiency. Initiate new job start-ups when required. Effectively manage scrap control and reduction. Engage in plan development and implementation. Delegate work to subordinates when necessary to ensure efficiency and timely completion of all tasks. Complete necessary documentation and file appropriately. Learn the new JDE operating system becoming proficient at using it. Ensure that all completed orders are closed out and the product is transferred to the correct location. Required attendance at daily production meetings. Must maintain current certification for First Aid/CPR/AED. Complete Annual Training for Drug Free Safety Program. Interact with Maintenance to maximize efficiency of all production lines. Qualifications and Experience: HS diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Management preferred. Three to five years of production supervisory experience. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel. Flexible schedule and ability to work overtime when needed. Ability to troubleshoot and provide preventative maintenance and thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of all duties.
