Production General

We are looking for committed individuals to operate industrial sewing machines in the manufacturing of components for medical devices.

Training will be provided for one week, followed by on-site mentorship to ensure competency in the production process.

Responsibilities include:

• Configuring the sewing machine with the correct thread.
• Operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture components for medical devices.
• Increasing production to reach the expected level for each product within 13 weeks.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Remaining seated for extended periods while operating sewing machines.
• Requesting assistance or contacting the maintenance department if any issues arise with the sewing machine.
• Ensuring products meet quality standards.

• Attention to detail.
• Ability to meet production goals.
• Experience or ability to succeed in a dynamic production environment.

Additional skills and qualifications:

• Experience in industrial sewing is valued.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Knowledge of medical device manufacturing.

Workplace environment:

This is a contract manufacturing company for medical devices that has grown by 30% over the last year, with 800 employees at the St. Charles plant. The production facility primarily uses industrial sewing machines and operates in a clean environment that complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), where hairnets and beard covers are required. While not climate-controlled, fans are provided throughout the production area. The workforce is diverse, with more than five languages spoken. Candidates who do not speak English may face challenges in the sewing class, but self-sufficiency is encouraged with translation technology. The first shift is from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with the possibility of extending hours and volunteering to work Saturdays after reaching a certain productivity level. The second shift operates from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with similar volunteering options.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract to hire position based out of St. Charles, IL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
