Principal Site Reliability Engineer - Remote

Salary: $90,000 - 130,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• We require 10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, or Cloud Engineering.
• We need experience influencing multiple teams or platforms without direct ownership.
• We require a track record of improving reliability through automation, tooling, or AI-enabled methods.
• We need practical expertise in reliability engineering, including SLOs, SLIs, incident management, and observability.
• We require experience working with distributed systems in cloud environments, with Azure preferred.
• We need a solid understanding of system architecture, performance, scalability, and failure scenarios.
• We prefer experience implementing AI/ML or AIOps solutions in production, such as anomaly detection, alert tuning, or automation.
• We prefer experience standardizing observability frameworks such as OpenTelemetry or similar tools.
• We prefer experience in complex enterprise or regulated environments.
• We prefer a background supporting large-scale, mission-critical systems.
• We prefer the ability to influence senior technical stakeholders.
• We prefer candidates located in Minnesota.

• We define and drive SRE standards across multiple teams.
• We establish and evolve service level objectives, service level indicators, and error budget practices.
• We build and strengthen observability through metrics, logs, and tracing.
• We implement resiliency patterns such as failover and self-healing.
• We improve reliability through automation and proactive risk reduction.
• We lead reliability efforts in Azure environments.
• We apply AIOps approaches, including anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, and automation.
• We influence engineering teams without direct authority.
• We partner with engineering, platform, and security teams to raise reliability maturity.
• We contribute to mission-critical healthcare systems at enterprise scale.
