Retina Specialist

Seeking a highly skilled, patient-focused, fellowship-trained vitreoretinal specialist to join our busy ophthalmology practice in South Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for a retina specialist who wants to develop an expandingmedical and surgical retina department while also participating in the growth of a clinical research program within a respected, high-volume practice. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive retinal care, including office-based medical retina services, intravitreal injections, retinal laser procedures, vitreoretinal surgery, and participation in clinical research involving retinal disease and emerging therapies. This position offers immediate access to an established and substantial ophthalmology patient base, with strong potential to grow an already busy medical and surgical retina practice. There is significant demand for intravitreal injections, medical retina management, retinal laser procedures, and vitreoretinal surgery, supported by consistent internal and external referrals. The physician will also have the opportunity to participate in industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical research, with the potential to help develop, expand, and lead the retinal clinical research program. A diverse patient population supports efficient clinical-trial recruitment and enrollment, while research presentations, publications, and educational programs offer opportunities for professional recognition. The practice provides modern diagnostic, imaging, laser, injection, and surgical technology. Experienced clinical, research, administrative, billing, and surgical support are available. Diagnose and manage medical and surgical retinal diseases Perform intravitreal injections for macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, retinal vein occlusion, and other retinal conditions Perform vitreoretinal surgical procedures, including vitrectomy and repair of retinal detachments Manage diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and other vitreoretinal disorders Perform retinal laser treatments and other office-based procedures Provide emergency evaluation and treatment for acute retinal conditions Collaborate closely with cataract, cornea, refractive, glaucoma, and comprehensive ophthalmology providers Participate in the continued growth and development of the institute’s retina service Participate in clinical trials and investigator-initiated research involving medical and surgical retinal disease Assist with identifying and enrolling appropriate patients in clinical research studies Work collaboratively with research coordinators, sponsors, monitors, and institutional review boards Follow study protocols, Good Clinical Practice standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements Contribute to research presentations, publications, and educational programs when appropriate Maintain accurate and timely clinical and research documentation Follow all applicable quality, compliance, privacy, and patient-safety standards Bilangual a plus, but not required #J-18808-Ljbffr American Academy of Ophthalmology
