Job Summary:

Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab Center is seeking a critical thinker that is dependable and organized. The Scheduling Coordinator will support staffing operations for our skilled nursing facility.

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and adjusting staff schedules to help ensure appropriate coverage for resident care needs. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), nursing leadership, payroll, and frontline staff to support consistent staffing, timely communication, and efficient daily operations.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with prior scheduling experience in a skilled nursing facility or hospital setting. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to respond quickly and professionally to staffing changes, call-offs, open shifts, and facility needs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, maintain, and update nursing department schedules in accordance with facility needs, staffing requirements, and leadership direction.

• Coordinate shift replacements, schedule changes, requested time off, and approved schedule adjustments.

• Monitor daily staffing levels and assist with identifying and filling open shifts, call-offs, schedule gaps, and last-minute staffing needs.

• Communicate professionally and promptly with nursing leadership, employees, and agency staffing partners as needed.

• Track attendance patterns, call-offs, shift changes, overtime, agency usage, and other staffing-related information as directed.

• Support onboarding and orientation scheduling for new nursing department employees as needed.

• Maintain confidentiality of employee, resident, and facility information.

• Promote a positive, accountable, team-oriented, and resident-centered culture.

• Willingness to help on the floor when called upon.

Requirements:

• Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the state of Kansas.

• Prior scheduling experience in a skilled nursing facility or hospital setting required.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, adjust quickly to changing needs, and remain calm under pressure.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with nursing leadership, employees, residents, families, and outside staffing partners.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete scheduling-related documentation in a timely manner.

• Comfortable using scheduling systems, electronic timekeeping systems, email, spreadsheets, and other basic computer programs.

Salary Range: $52,000-$57,000 annually, based on experience.
