Job Title: Litigation Attorney (employment litigation preferred)

Location: Scottsdale, AZ 85255

Salary/Payrate: $160K-$200K

Work Environment: Onsite w/flexibility

Term: Permanent

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

 

 

Job Description:

 

The ideal candidate will be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting, and arguing motions, as well as taking and defending depositions primarily in matters in state and federal court involving claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful terminations, etc., experience in labor and employment law is preferred; but candidates with strong litigation experience and an interest in labor and employment law will be considered.

 

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with clients and counsel.
• Case evaluation recommendation and support.
• Propound and respond to discovery.
• Perform legal research and draft memoranda.
• Draft responsive pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
• Prepare for, take and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings and personnel appeal hearings.
• Prepare for and attend mediations.
• Provide excellent service to all clients.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Four to seven years of civil litigation experience, labor and employment experience preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the Arizona State Bar.
• Experience with depositions, motions and court hearings is required.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and to multitask while demonstrating strong attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Westlaw, and other Internet database platforms.
