Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum stages. Ensures the safety, comfort, and emotional support of patients while adhering to hospital policies and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring women and their newborns, including assessment and monitoring.
• Utilize fetal monitoring equipment to track fetal heart rates and contractions accurately.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Educate patients and families on labor processes, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Document patient information and clinical findings using hospital-specific electronic systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Texas RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Demonstrate proficiency in fetal monitoring, BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications.
• Have current certifications in Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring.
• Ability to float as needed and maintain professionalism under pressure.
