Specimen Processor- Confirmation Clerk
Labcorp
MedTox Laboratories, a Labcorp subsidiary, seeks a Confirmation Clerk to perform specimen accessioning and pre-analytical processing in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The role involves receiving, evaluating, and preparing medical samples for testing while maintaining quality standards and chain of custody documentation.
Responsibilities
- Receive and evaluate specimens and test orders; accession and aliquot samples appropriately
- Aliquot positive specimens for confirmatory and additional testing requirements
- Process client, quality control, and proficiency samples according to standard operating procedures
- Maintain laboratory equipment, perform scheduled maintenance, and troubleshoot as needed
- Complete documentation accurately and monitor chain of custody forms for compliance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year healthcare or production environment experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work accurately in fast-paced settings
- Color distinction capability including shade differentiation
- Capacity to manage multiple prioritized tasks independently
