Description
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that focus on immediate objectives as well as long-term communications challenges, cognitive functions, or swallowing difficulties.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions that enhance communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills on a personal basis.
- Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate integrated care strategies.
- Provide informative support to patients and families to enhance progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Participate in necessary inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless treatment experience.
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Engage in ongoing education and professional networking to remain current with advancements within the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatments suitable for all age groups, with a robust understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capability to adapt therapy methodologies to suit diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable utilizing electronic medical records and documentation standards.
