Description
  • Assess patients spanning the pediatric, adult, and geriatric spectrum utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Create customized treatment strategies that cater to immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing-related needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and dysphagia.
  • Work in conjunction with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, families, and caregivers to form a uniform approach to care.
  • Provide education to patients and their families, empowering them to support progress in the home environment.
  • Conduct occasional speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatient cases, ensuring a comprehensive care continuum.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in your field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

  • Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches suitable for all ages, along with a keen understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Ability to adjust therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic contexts.
  • Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation requirements.
