MCI is a 46-year-old industry leader in the design, manufacture, and assembly of electrical controls, electrical enclosures, irrigation pumps and controls, municipal and commercial pump stations, water purification systems and design-to-order metal fabrications. Job Summary

The Training and Onboarding Coordinator owns and coordinates MCI's employee training and onboarding programs across the business. This role is responsible for delivering a strong Day 1 onboarding experience, coordinating required training and cross-training activities, administering the learning management system, maintaining department skills matrices, and supporting leadership development efforts. This position is best suited for an organized, collaborative professional who can work across departments, track training with precision, and help build a more capable, compliant, and flexible workforce.

Compensation

Starting at $75,000 annual

Responsibilities

  • Own and coordinate the new hire onboarding program, including Day 1 orientation, safety training, company policies, and department handoff.
  • Partner with department heads to coordinate department-specific onboarding and support 30/60/90-day check-in schedules.
  • Schedule and track required training across the organization, including safety, compliance, skills development, and leadership training.
  • Administer the learning management system (LMS), including course setup, enrollments, completion tracking, and reporting.
  • Maintain department skills matrices and monitor cross-training progress across priority roles.
  • Coordinate cross-training programs with department supervisors to identify needs, schedule training, and improve operational coverage.
  • Support leadership development programs for leads and supervisors.
  • Coordinate with the QMS Coordinator on critical operations training and certification tracking.
  • Report training KPIs to the HR Director, including completion rates, compliance gaps, onboarding satisfaction, and cross-training coverage.
  • Identify and communicate training gaps, missed requirements, and improvement opportunities to the appropriate stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in training coordination, onboarding, HR support, learning administration, or a related role.
  • Experience coordinating schedules, programs, or activities across multiple departments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training activities and deadlines at once.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and data tracking systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle compliance-related tracking with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience administering a learning management system (LMS).
  • Experience coordinating manufacturing, safety, compliance, or skills-based training programs.
  • Experience maintaining skills matrices or coordinating cross-training initiatives.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and employee development programs.
  • Experience supporting supervisor or leadership development training in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

M - F, 8:00am - 5:00pm
