Project Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Stainless-Steel Project Manager is responsible for managing stainless-steel fabrication projects from order acceptance through final shipment. This position serves as the primary link between customers, engineering, purchasing, production, quality, and shipping to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer specifications. The Project Manager takes ownership of project schedules, material requirements, costs, customer communication, drawing revisions, and production priorities while proactively identifying and resolving issues that could impact delivery or profitability. Project Management Manage assigned stainless-steel projects from kickoff through completion and shipment. Review purchase orders, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and delivery requirements. Establish project schedules, milestones, and required completion dates. Conduct project kickoff meetings with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Shipping. Maintain accurate project status and communicate priorities throughout the organization. Identify schedule, material, engineering, or production risks before they impact customer commitments. Coordinate and document customer-requested changes and change orders. Stainless Steel Fabrication Coordination Coordinate production of stainless-steel ductwork, fittings, transitions, elbows, dampers, and other fabricated components utilizing CAD software. Work closely with production supervisors to establish fabrication priorities. Review drawings and fabrication requirements for completeness and manufacturability. Work closely with procurement for the sourcing of product and materials. Ensure correct stainless-steel grades, gauges, finishes, and material specifications are utilized. Coordinate outside processing and subcontracted fabrication when required. Scheduling & On-Time Delivery Maintain a detailed schedule for each assigned project. Monitor engineering releases, material availability, production progress, and shipping dates. Identify critical-path items and take corrective action when schedules are at risk. Communicate schedule changes promptly to customers and internal stakeholders. Coordinate expedited material or production activities when necessary to protect customer delivery dates. Customer Management Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned projects. Develop strong long-term relationships with customers. Quality & Documentation Coordinate with Quality to ensure products meet customer drawings and specifications. Ensure drawing revisions and customer changes are properly communicated to production. Assist in resolving nonconformances and determining corrective actions. Coordinate required project documentation, inspection reports, certifications, and shipping documentation. Qualifications 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or a related industrial environment preferred. Experience with stainless-steel / sheet metal fabrication strongly preferred. Working knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication, welding, forming, rolling, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, specifications, BOMs, and customer purchase orders. Strong understanding of manufacturing schedules and material requirements. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, ERP/MRP and AutoCAD systems. Ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, engineering personnel, and shop-floor employees. Preferred Experience Industrial stainless-steel ductwork and fittings Custom engineered-to-order manufacturing TIG welding and stainless-steel fabrication Heavy industrial or air-pollution-control equipment Core Competencies Physical / Work Environment This position operates in both an office and manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production personnel on the shop floor.
