Clinical Genetic Counselor-Assistant Professor-Human Genetics

Job Overview Ohio State University, Division of Human Genetics, seeks a dynamic genetic counselor for a clinical excellence faculty position in the growing adult medical genetics clinical care area. The role involves cutting‑edge clinical care, building new clinical collaborations and service pathways, and contributing to research on rare diseases. In addition to clinical and research responsibilities, the position engages in teaching and mentoring to shape the next generation of genetic counselors through lectures, seminars, didactic teaching, and clinical rotation supervision. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, PhDs, and MDs is also a key component. Responsibilities Active provision of clinical genetic services in general genetics clinics. Establishment of new clinical relationships. Teaching genetic counseling graduate students, medical students, residents, and fellows. Participation in research programs focused on understanding and treating rare disease. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, PhDs, and MDs. Mentoring and supervision of clinical rotations. Qualifications Eligible candidates should have earned a doctoral or terminal degree in genetics or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
