Principal Controls Engineer

Baxter seeks a Principal Controls Engineer for its Marion, North Carolina manufacturing facility. The role involves developing control solutions, leading engineering projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support life-saving medical device production in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop engineering solutions for assigned projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Design, implement, and validate control systems; perform testing and data analysis
- Conduct equipment engineering studies and lead change control activities related to equipment
- Perform NCR/CAPA investigations and provide technical support to production and service departments
- Lead multi-functional project teams, mentor engineers, and establish project budgets
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of controls engineering experience in manufacturing
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI systems
- Experience with industrial robotics (Fanuc, Yaskawa, Staubli) and vision systems
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with safety system knowledge
- Hands-on mechanical abilities and familiarity with servo drives, motion control, hydraulics
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and validation protocol practices
Compensation: $112,000-$154,000 base annually
