Overview This position provides PRN clinical coverage for Atrium Health Outpatient Physical Therapy clinics in the Greater Charlotte area. Opportunities include single location support and/or float PRN roles. Schedule Details & Requirements PRN Physical Therapists are scheduled with a minimum of 4–6 weeks advance notice. Float and single location opportunities are available Must be available to work 50% of the working weekdays in a given month, typically 10–11 days per month Required to work one Saturday per month with potential for flexible hours All schedules are communicated well in advance Pay Range $49.00 – $49.00 per hour Locations Cabarrus Gateway Pineville Charlotte/Blythe Huntersville Poplar Tent Prosperity Crossing Mtn Island Lake University Harrisburg Denver Lincolnton Gastonia Essential Functions (Responsibilities) Evaluate patients and establish a patient‑care plan that includes modalities, procedures, exercise programs, and patient education as warranted by the diagnosis and condition. Gather and interpret data from medical records, physician reports, patients, and families to document needs for assistive and orthotic devices. Document evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges. Re‑evaluate patients as needed, modifying goals and treatment as status changes. Communicate evaluation and progress to physicians, referral sources, other clinical staff, and coordinate schedules, treatment programs, discharge planning, and recommend solutions to patient‑care problems. Provide and document patient and family education regarding deficits, progress toward goals, and therapeutic techniques, including individualized home‑program instruction and equipment use. Direct and supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapy Technicians, students, volunteers, and assist with orienting new and rotating staff. Physical Requirements Hearing and vision adequate for communication and reading; intelligible speech and language/cognitive skills required. Must sit, stand, and walk throughout the day. Job duties may require climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, bending, occasionally crouching, crawling, and reaching overhead. Lifting of patients, equipment, or supplies up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally; lateral transfer of patients up to 100 pounds rarely. Must demonstrate exercises and activities to patients/caregivers. PPE such as gloves, goggles, gowns, and masks may be required. Work in a fast‑paced indoor clinical environment with occasional outdoor tasks. Education, Experience & Certifications Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required. State license for PT required. CPR Certification and BLS required per policy guidelines.
