Registered Nurse, Pre/Post-Op - PRN schedule - Willing to Train!

Job Title: Registered Nurse, Pre/Post-Op Company: Eye of Illinois Surgery Center / Maryville Eye Surgery Center (part of Quantum Vision Centers and Eyecare Partners) Location: Maryville, IL Pay: The pay range for this role starts at $30-32/hr, depending on experience. Benefits: We do not offer benefits for PRN positions. Hours PRN – The schedule will vary weekly; you may work 0-2 days per week, depending on staffing needs and surgery schedules. Office hours: Monday-Friday 6am-4pm. Your shifts will fall within these hours, and you may have to work a little earlier and/or later as needed. Requirements Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required in the state where the worksite is located. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. At least one year of previous nursing experience preferred; open to new grads. Previous nursing experience in at least one of surgical, ambulatory surgical center (ASC), Pre/Post-Op, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical, Telemetry or Operating Room. Summary Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards and ASC policies and procedures. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his/her direction. Participates in direct patient care and maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ability to supervise and direct patient care in an individual Operating Room. Ensures that proper techniques and practices are used in accordance to accepted standards of practice. Complies with HIPAA regulations and knowledge of patient rights. Performs duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of the license as defined by the State. Supervises other personnel in the room and directs or assists as necessary. Immediately reports unusual occurrences to charge personnel, documents appropriately in the patient record. Demonstrates primary nursing accountability through coordination, communication and continuity of patient care. Assess, prioritize, plan and implement patient care efficiently. Maintains medical records accurately and legibly. Participates in continuing education/in-service training as needed, staff meetings, and Q.A.P.I. program. Follows Physician orders and direction from management. Actively participates in the development of a healthy work environment. Assists in training new staff when needed. Balances team and individual responsibilities. Recognizes each department’s significance and collaborates with other departments. Qualifications Ability to assess, prioritize, plan and implement patient care effectively. Ability to respond to emergent situations. Demonstrates a positive, friendly, courteous and professional manner. Maintains effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and other staff. Good oral and written communication skills. Organized, manages time effectively and cost-effectively. Ability to work independently and within a group. Attendance: arrives to work area on time with minimal absences; observes assigned work schedules and hours. Licenses and Credentials Current Registered Nurse (RN) License required in the state where the worksite is located. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. Systems and Technology Knowledge of Amkai Office and Amkai Charts Database software. Knowledge of patient monitoring and emergency equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Familiarity with printer, copier, telephone and fax. Physical Requirements This role requires frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%) and standing (50%) with regular bending, stooping and reaching (25–50%). Employees must lift, carry, push and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands necessary for constant grasping, writing/typing and technology use. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
