How You’ll Contribute The Advancement team cultivates, solicits, and stewards philanthropic foundations, government and corporate partners who invest in the Society to drive impact through science, technology, education, exploration, and storytelling. The team collaborates with Society teams – and often works closely with NGP/Disney – to build transformative and impact-driven strategic partnerships. The team also produces global events that deepen connections and leverage the Society’s power to convene, and directs robust annual, major and planned giving programs empowering the Society with a broad base of public support. The Manager, Corporate Partnerships is a key member of the Institutional Partnerships Team responsible for dedicated corporate partnership engagement. This role requires strong attention to detail, project management skills, and clear communication tailored for senior leadership. The Manager handles day-to-day relationship management, tracks project milestones, and prepares deliverables and materials for executive-level meetings. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Partnerships and located at the Society’s headquarters office in Washington, DC, the Manager, Corporate Partnerships will collaborate across the Advancement, Communications, and Programs teams to implement successful, multi-faceted corporate partnership activities. They will be a creative, solutions-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in building successful corporate partnerships that leverage meaningful impact to meet mutual business objectives. They will steward a portfolio of high-impact, high-value partnerships, ensuring strategic alignment across internal teams and external partners, while driving measurable impact and deepening engagement to advance shared partnership goals. Your Impact Responsibilities Include: Stewardship of Corporate Partnerships (75%): Serve as the day-to-day relationship and project manager for a dedicated portfolio of high-value corporate partnerships, in close collaboration with the Director, Corporate Partnerships and other team leadership. Manage complex, end-to-end project timelines and milestone tracking to ensure a smooth on-time fulfillment of all contractual partnership deliverables and assets. Lead internal cross-departmental workflows to guarantee coordinated execution of meetings, events, updates and material creation. Support a cross-departmental effort to compile and deliver comprehensive impact reports, regular status updates, and strategic touchpoints to communicate key performance metrics and support long-term account retention. Executive Material Preparation & Senior Leadership Interaction (10%): Support team leadership in preparing for executive engagements with assigned portfolio of partners. In collaboration with internal teams, develop, design, and secure approvals for executive-ready decks and case studies, for presentations to internal senior leadership and corporate C-suite executives. Create and secure internal approvals of strategy guides, detailed talking points, and briefing materials to synthesize complex partnership objectives to align key stakeholders ahead of presentations. Account Renewal & Strategic Alignment (10%): Support the long-term growth of the portfolio by playing a key role in the renewal processes for assigned, supported corporate accounts. Manage the internal development, coordination, and review of corporate partnership renewal proposals. Strategy and Thought Partnership (5%): Serve as a thought partner across the Institutional Partnerships Team to develop SOPs and creative partnership strategies that engage, retain, and grow the Society’s corporate partners. Monitor industry trends in corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainability, and program management to optimize account growth. Take on additional team projects as assigned, including the development of new templates and SOPs. What You’ll Bring Educational Background Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum Years and Type of Experience 5+ years of experience in corporate partnerships, fundraising, corporate social impact, partnership marketing, business development or related fields. Necessary Knowledge and Skills Superb verbal and written communications skills Exceptional project management skills with meticulous attention to detail Excellent time management skills; capable of maintaining high-quality work within time-sensitive deadlines Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to cohesively coordinate with people across all levels of the organization A positive and proactive mindset with openness to constructive feedback A self-starter who can work independently but also values being an active part of a team A motivated learner with enthusiasm for the National Geographic Society’s mission and values Demonstrated discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information Demonstrated success in managing corporate partnerships Strong communication and presentation skills with a high degree of confidence in interacting with senior executives Evening/weekend hours for assigned meetings or events and 15-20% travel will be expected Desired Qualifications A creative, solutions-oriented approach to building mutually beneficial partnerships Experience fundraising and providing donor stewardship for science, education, environmental conservation or cultural/historic preservation preferred Understanding of current trends in corporate social responsibility, sustainability, grant and/or project management, and communications Supervision No direct reports at this time Salary Information The National Geographic Society offers a competitive and holistic total rewards package. Our compensation structure and transparent pay philosophy are based on industry-specific market data for similar-sized nonprofit organizations. The salary range for this position accounts for a wide range of factors including but not limited to organizational need; specific skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and more. At the National Geographic Society, individuals are typically hired at or near the starting point of the salary range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $99,750.00 - $105,000.00.
