This role is ideal for professionals with a solid background in clinical diagnostics and a deep understanding of hospital networks, including Laboratory, ED, Clinic, Physician Office Lab and Urgent Care settings.As a Key Account Manager, you will be instrumental in accelerating growth, expanding market share, and driving revenue across key accounts. You will be at the forefront of innovation, helping healthcare providers make faster, smarter decisions that improve patient outcomes. Leveraging your technical expertise and consultative selling skills, you’ll influence purchasing decisions and deliver tailored diagnostic solutions. You will serve as the primary contact for account management, focused on improving profitability, increasing customer loyalty, and securing contract renewals and new business.You will be responsible for an annual target and goal achievement within the following product lines: ID NOW PLATFORM (Influenza, Covid-19, RSV, Strep A), BinaxNOW COVID-19/Flu A&B Combo, DETERMINE HIV-1/2, BinaxNOW Streptococcus pneumoniae & Legionella, BinaxNOW Malaria, Clearview hCG, Clearview PBP2a SA.What You'll Work OnServe as a trusted advisor to customers by building strong relationships, understanding business objectives, and delivering strategic guidance that drives loyalty and long-term growth.Develop and execute account strategies to protect and grow existing business, expand product adoption, optimize reagent utilization, and achieve annual revenue goals.Conduct regular business reviews, proactively identify opportunities and risks, and resolve customer challenges to enhance satisfaction, retention, and profitability.Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Technical Service, Contracting, Pricing, and Distribution teams to deliver a seamless customer experience and secure renewals.Manage the sales pipeline and account performance using CRM and analytics tools (SFDC, Power BI, Microsoft Platform), leveraging data-driven insights to influence purchasing decisions and forecast growth opportunities.Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, proposals, bids, and customer implementations while ensuring effective follow-through and ongoing account success.Support and develop distributor partners through training, sales planning, technical expertise, and market intelligence to maximize territory performance and strengthen Abbott’s market position.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree4+ years proven success in medical sales, ideally within the diagnostics spaceDeep understanding of laboratory and point-of-care settings, health system operations, and health economicsWillingness to travel within the assigned territory (4 days/week, up to ~35% overnight travel)Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, health care, or life scienceExperience working with distribution partnersStrong financial acumen and ability to analyze healthcare market dataDemonstrated individual contributor experience including problem solving, complex selling, planning and execution.Excellent interpersonal skills and documented success in team selling environment with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organizationExperience with complex contracting and negotiationIf you are a strategic thinker with a passion for healthcare innovation and a track record of exceeding goals, this is a great role for you.Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives: your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
