CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening. New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program. The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND One (1) year of full-time-equivalent experience in maintenance and repair of locks and door hardware or related work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires climbing ladders, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and participates in repairing locks using hand tools and other equipment. Coordinates the ordering, purchasing and installation of locking mechanisms and door hardware. Cuts duplicate keys and maintain a log of keys issued or returned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the procedures and methods for cutting keys Knowledge of the procedures and methods of installing, disassembling, and repairing locks Skills in installing, disassembling, and repairing locks Skills in operating a key-cutting machine Skills in using a lock pick to open locks Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments Ability to communicate effectively Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Ability to follow instructions Ability to re-key existing locks
