Operator I

Operator I provides necessary support to the production teams, assist machine operators with assigned tasks, maintain materials and supplies, track inventories, and package finished products. Responsibilities include operating a forklift truck to safely deliver materials to and from the factory, reading work orders and/or following oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run, loading/unloading materials onto or from pallets, gaylords boxes, and shelves via forklift or by hand, loading resins into blenders, grinders, dryers and hoppers by hand or vacuum system, maintaining and preparing packaging supplies, packaging all finished products ensuring correct packaging material, labels and details, per customer specification, handling materials and inventory control using barcode scanner, assisting operators with stringing lines and taking rolls off machines, assisting operators with roll data entry, roll changing, changing trim, mounting unwound rolls, cutovers and cleaning the systems, assisting warehouse manager with monthly inventory, maintaining confidentiality of information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions and set-up information, and other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Education & Skillsets include reading a ruler and understanding measurements in fractions and decimals, reading, writing and comprehending instructions and correspondence, communicating effectively with workers and supervisor, adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying with the aid of a calculator, performing calculations that include but are not limited to fractions and decimals, and using a computer for basic data entry of production and materials in database. Preferred Education and Skillsets include a high school diploma or GED, prior warehouse or manufacturing experience. Physical Demands include being able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds, work 12 hour shifts, perform repetitive tasks, routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk, reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces, have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus, and meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks.

PPE Requirements include wearing Personal Protective Equipment including; safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe), safety glasses, bump caps, protective gloves; when performing certain tasks, hearing protection; when required, and other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks. Work Environment includes conditions of a manufacturing environment, air temperatures ranging from cold to hot, atmosphere containing dust, fumes and odors, and may include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.
