Real Estate Attorney

Our distinguished law firm client with a long-standing tradition of excellence has an immediate need for a Senior Real Estate Attorney. They are looking for an experienced and dynamic attorney to join their Commercial Real Estate Finance Department. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience, with a proven track record and portable business. The role offers an opportunity for a senior attorney or partner to contribute to the group's succession planning and to take on a significant role in the growth of the department. Our focus is on representing financial institutions involved in complex syndicated and bilateral construction and term loan facilities for various commercial real estate projects. Our clients include major financial institutions, such as money-center banks, across the United States. The successful candidate will play an essential role in maintaining, developing, and expanding a substantial client base. A deep understanding of the documentation and regulatory aspects of leading banks in complex loan transactions is necessary, along with strong client development skills. We value a collaborative work environment and prefer candidates willing to work on-site with the team. Additionally, the position will be supported by the firm’s staff and seasoned associates. Responsibilities Representing financial institutions in complex commercial loans, including construction loans and term debt, secured by diverse commercial real estate assets. Knowledge of affordable housing transactions, particularly those involving HDC and HFA bonds, and IRC Section 42 tax credit equity, is advantageous. The ability to prioritize effectively, maintain a professional demeanor, and demonstrate excellent judgment and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with a small team of attorneys and paralegals. Highly motivated, with substantial growth potential, and possess a strong academic background. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in New York. Requirements A minimum of 10 years of real estate lending experience. Must have commercial lending and syndication experience. J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with the New York State Bar. A solid academic record, strong interpersonal skills, and a professional demeanor. Ability to multitask with excellent organizational skills. Team-oriented, with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues. Attention to detail, strong initiative, and the ability to prioritize.
