Registered Nurse II/III - MC/CHC - Corona Express Care Clinic

About the Position The County of Riverside – Riverside University Health System – Community Health Center (CHC) is recruiting a Registered Nurse II/III MC/CHC to join the Express Care clinic in Corona. The incumbent will manage a team of two Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and two Medical Assistants (MAs) in the express care area, and perform other nursing duties as assigned. Candidates with experience in urgent care, express care, or emergency room services are preferred; bilingual candidates are a plus. License and Certification Required for the Position Valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association. Work Schedule 5/40, Monday through Friday – 10:00 am to 6:30 pm Salary Range Registered Nurse II MC/CHC: $45.75 – $70.81 per hour. Registered Nurse III MC/CHC: $53.17 – $80.24 per hour. Examples of Essential Duties Assess, plan, organize and provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions; make preliminary observations and prepare patients for medical treatment. Assist physicians in administering treatments and performing medical examinations, diagnostic tests and surgical operations. Administer prescribed treatment and medications, including dispensing as ordered; chart treatment; record and report significant changes in condition and progress. Counsel and advise patients, families and significant others regarding medical problems and proper healthcare methods; prepare and maintain complete records and reports. Instruct patients in carrying out physician's orders; transcribe orders to working records. Provide orientation and training to new staff, residents, medical students, ROP participants and nursing students. Participate in quality assurance reviews; act as a team leader or relief charge nurse. Assign and monitor the work of subordinate nursing personnel; participate in committee activities. Triage patients by reviewing admission charts and assigning to appropriate clinic flow when appropriate. Testify in court regarding client’s mental and physical condition. Coordinate and monitor patients through the hospitalization process, maintaining quality care and fiscal responsibility. Review post‑hospital care plans with patient/family to establish contact regarding timeframes and responsibilities; follow care plan through discharge. Minimum Qualifications – Registered Nurse II MC/CHC Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid RN license in California. A bachelor’s degree in nursing or a health‑related field may be required for some positions. Experience: One year full‑time experience as an RN in an acute care hospital, outpatient clinic, or healthcare agency program. Experience as an Interim Permit Nurse may be credited. Knowledge of: Current nursing principles, medical terminology, patient care routines, medical instruments and equipment, use of medicines and narcotics, community resources, federal, state and local nursing regulations, discharge needs, payor documentation and reimbursement regulations. Ability to: Perform all nursing duties, plan and organize care, prepare complete records, maintain effective relationships with physicians, patients and staff, instruct entry‑level nurses, evaluate admission records, recommend stay necessity, and identify discharge needs. Minimum Qualifications – Registered Nurse III MC/CHC Education: Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid RN license in California. A bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; a master’s degree may substitute for two years. Experience: Three years full‑time experience as an RN in an acute care facility. A bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year; a master’s for two years. Knowledge of: Same areas as the RN II position. Ability to: Same areas as the RN II position, plus secure cooperation of employees and keep abreast of developments in specialized nursing areas. Other Requirements Current, valid RN license in California. Valid BLS certificate issued by the American Heart Association. Current California Driver’s License may be required.
