Because becoming the undisputed leader in food means surrounding ourselves with people who are hungry for what's next.As part of our manufacturing team, you will:Installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipmentUsing machinery/equipment specifically related to the position including saws/drills, welders, lathes, bending/cutting machines, basic mechanical tools, ultrasonic/vibration analysis equipment, piping, rigging, lifting, and sheet metalTroubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems of all plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems)Troubleshooting and repairing electrical problems of plant and packaging/processing equipment such as wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, motors and AC/DC motor drivers and circuit boardsPerforming both uptime and downtime preventative maintenanceParticipate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performanceAssist in training new employeesMinimum qualifications:High school diploma or GEDAbility to work rotating 8-hour shiftsMinimum 3 years of industrial maintenance or related industry experienceBasic mechanical knowledge and understanding of PLC operation, electrical motors, gearbox and components along with systems troubleshooting, including use of a multimeter and specialized toolsExperience in repairing and troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics and using electrical testing equipmentAbility to work independently and as a team with flexibility to quickly shift work prioritiesMust possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periodsWillingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditionsAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platformsAbility to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standardsAbility to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergensPreferred qualifications:Manufacturing or production experienceBasic shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, presses, etc.) preferredExperience in a manufacturing/production environment preferredApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.General Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
