Private Equity Associate – Consumer
Location: Nashville, TN
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Private Equity Associate to join a investment firm focused on the consumer sectors. The Associate will play a key role in evaluating investment opportunities, executing transactions, and supporting portfolio company growth initiatives. This is an attractive opportunity for candidates looking to gain hands-on deal experience and exposure to a collaborative, growth-oriented team.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and execute investment opportunities across consumer sectors
- Build and maintain complex financial models (LBO, operating models, valuation analyses)
- Conduct industry research and market diligence to support investment theses
- Participate in all phases of the deal lifecycle, including sourcing, diligence, execution, and portfolio monitoring
- Prepare investment committee materials, presentations, and deal documentation
- Coordinate with management teams, advisors, lenders, and other stakeholders throughout the transaction process
- Support portfolio companies by analyzing performance, tracking KPIs, and assisting with strategic initiatives
- Monitor industry trends and identify potential add-on acquisition opportunities
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory
- Strong transaction experience, ideally with exposure to M&A and/or leveraged finance
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
- Demonstrated interest in consumer and/or retail sectors
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Background
- Experience covering consumer, retail, or related sectors
- Familiarity with buy-and-build strategies and middle-market transactions
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a related field with strong academic performance
