About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Transportation to lead the strategic direction, operational performance, and financial results of its transportation business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing multi-year transportation strategies, defining scalable network strategies, and identifying new market opportunities and strategic partnerships. This role requires a leader with a strong background in transportation, logistics, and supply chain management, who can drive transportation excellence through operational innovation, cost management, and strong partner relationships. The Vice President will also be accountable for the safety, compliance, and risk management of transportation operations and must ensure that the network meets customer service expectations and internal performance objectives. Candidates for the Vice President of Transportation position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred, and 10-15+ years of progressive leadership experience. The role demands a leader with exceptional financial and P&L management capabilities, a deep understanding of transportation network design, and a proven track record in transportation procurement and contract negotiation. Experience in same-day, final-mile, expedited, or multi-modal transportation solutions is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, commercially minded, and operationally disciplined leader, capable of balancing growth, customer experience, and profitability. They should be highly analytical, data-driven, and possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, as well as a forward-thinking approach to technology and digital transformation.
