CNC Machinist (Vertical Mills)

We are seeking a highly skilled Class A CNC Machinist to join an industry-leading manufacturing team in Hauppauge, NY, offering a competitive $28 – $35/hour and a desirable 9/80 work schedule (enjoy every other Friday off!). In this role, you will lead the setup, programming/editing, and operation of CNC Vertical Mills (experience with Haas, Mitsubishi, or Milltronics preferred) to produce high-precision components directly from complex engineering blueprints. Responsibilities

• Program (G-code/conversational), edit, and perform complete setups on CNC Vertical Mill machines
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
• Select cutting tools, determine optimal speeds/feeds, and design/build custom holding fixtures for challenging runs.
• Conduct first-article, in-process, and final part inspections using calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure zero-defect production.
• Diagnose and correct dimensional discrepancies and machine malfunctions on the fly.
• Support and guide junior operators and machinists in best shop practices.
