Applications Developer

IT Support SpecialistThe Sponsor delivers human capital management technologies and services to the workforce, including data analytics that enable business decisions. The Sponsor seeks to build an integrated enterprise IT support model to drive efficiencies in the talent space and better address strategic requirements associated with learning, training compliance, foreign language development and retention, job advertisements, selection, and performance. The development and successful implementation of this model requires experience with multiple IT skill sets, including AGILE project management, Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) integration and configuration, specifically Service Now (SN), SN application design and development, enhancement, SN security risk management, and familiarity with requirements for system certification and accreditation.ResponsibilitiesWork from core hours from 0900 hours to 1500 hours with alternative works schedules discussed on a case by case basisFollow an Agile methodology for SN software developmentSupport the implementation of the Sponsor's identified objectives and priorities for SN features and functions and actively contribute to the AGILE methodology for software implementationSupport the implementation of security and development requirements as required by the sponsor applicationsFollow the Sponsor's document management plan that addresses documents required for all Sponsor applications and systems, their storage locations and versioning requirementsSupport the implementation of SN reference architecture and documentation as required for Sponsors SN platformDesign, develop, maintain, and document code in support of software applications following industry best practicesDesign, develop, maintain and document code in support of databases following industry best practicesDesign, develop, maintain and document code in support of cloud services following industry best practicesConduct unit, functional, and user testingRequirementsTS/SCI FSP ClearanceDemonstrated experience with development of ServiceNow applicationsDemonstrated experience implementing industry best practices and associated technical solutions consistent with accessibility standardsDemonstrated experience using agile methodologyDemonstrated experience using JiraDemonstrated experience proposing recommendations that provide business value while supporting business goals and objectives, with an emphasis on improving User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI), reducing O&M, increasing quality and speed of delivery, transforming, and modernizing web-based application, system, and service componentsDemonstrated experience analyzing and documenting web-based application, system, or service components and associated interfaces, including those with databases and web services/APIs to assist in decision-making regarding future developmentDemonstrate experience interfacing with web-based databases and providing reports generationDemonstrated on-job experience with version control software like Github or SubversionDemonstrated experience in managing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support, using service management systemsDemonstrated experience developing IT support documents that include SOPs, digital IT workflows, IT knowledge base, pre and post deployment checklists, IT architectural diagrams, system security plans, and administrative processesDemonstrated experience working with compliance or performance management applicationsCertification(s); Service Now DeveloperDesired SkillsDemonstrated experience working with the Sponsor and partner IT organizationsDemonstrated experience working with learning applicationsDemonstrated experience working with language, compliance, and performance management applicationsDemonstrated experience with cloud technologiesDemonstrated experience with networking and platform hosting technologiesDemonstrated experience with HTML5, CSS, XML, and JavaScriptDemonstrated experience with copyright and accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.0 AA)Demonstrated experience with TableauAbout Us For more than 20 years, NewGen Technologies has solved our clients' toughest IT challenges with integrity, security, and outstanding service by delivering both technology and talent.
