Punch Press Operator

This role operates punch press machines in a fast-paced, short-run metal stamping environment. You will work with a variety of parts that support industries such as medical, agriculture, light industrial, and motor sports. The position offers the opportunity to develop into punch press setup work over time while contributing to a high-quality production process.

Responsibilities

• Operate punch press machines safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Run different punch press machines throughout the day to support very short-run metal stamping jobs.
• Perform visual inspection of stamped parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Hand off completed parts to the post-operation team for further processing.
• Handle sheet metal and perform basic deburring tasks as needed.
• Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality guidelines at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area around the punch press machines.
• Communicate any equipment issues, defects, or production concerns promptly to the appropriate team members.
• Demonstrate reliability and consistency to earn opportunities for training in punch press setups.
• Support overall production goals by meeting daily output and quality targets.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience in a production environment.
• Previous machine operating experience, preferably with punch press equipment.
• Ability to operate punch press machines in a fast-paced production setting.
• Capability to stand for the duration of the shift and perform repetitive tasks.
• Basic understanding of sheet metal handling and deburring processes.
• Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of parts.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and work instructions consistently.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work with multiple machines and jobs throughout the day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience specifically running punch press machines is a strong plus.
• Interest in learning punch press setups and expanding technical skills over time.
• Comfort working in a louder fabrication environment with multiple machines operating.
• Ability to work collaboratively with post-operation and production teams.
• Willingness to adapt to changing jobs and priorities in a short-run stamping operation.

Work Environment

The role is based in a smaller, dimly lit fabrication shop that houses approximately 60 punch press machines. The setting is a louder industrial environment typical of metal stamping operations, where multiple machines run throughout the day. You will spend most of your time on your feet at the machines, working with sheet metal and interacting closely with production and post-operation teams in a hands-on, shop-floor atmosphere.

This is a Permanent position based out of Rogers, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
