Job Title: Press Brake Operator

Job Description

The Press Brake Operator will set up and operate Accupress and Cincinnati press brakes to produce high-quality fabricated sheet metal components in a dynamic job shop environment. This role involves working from routings, method layouts, and blueprints to determine proper forming sequences, performing precise machine setups, and ensuring parts meet ISO 9001 quality standards through careful inspection and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Accupress and Cincinnati press brakes to form sheet metal and fabricated components according to specifications.
• Review routings, method layouts, and engineering prints to determine the proper forming sequence and tooling requirements for each job.
• Select, position, and align appropriate tooling in the machine ram and bed to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.
• Program the press brake controller to set specified ram pressure, clearance between tools, and machine bed stops for each operation.
• Perform short-run and prototype press brake work, adjusting setups as needed for multiple parts and frequent changeovers.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other basic measuring tools to perform in-process quality inspections and verify part dimensions.
• Document in-process inspection data accurately and completely in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Follow ISO Quality Management System requirements, including all relevant departmental procedures and work aids.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and operate equipment safely in a large fabrication shop environment.
• Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement efforts in press brake and sheet metal fabrication processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a job shop environment with multiple parts and frequent setup changes.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, including working with press machines and punch press brake equipment.
• Comfort working on prototype and custom fabrication projects.
• Understanding of general fabrication practices and shop safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-maintained 90,000-square-foot fabrication shop that operates as a job shop. The facility handles multiple parts each day and supports short-run and prototype work, offering variety in daily tasks and exposure to different projects. The environment is ISO 9001 certified, with established quality procedures and structured workflows. Press brakes (including Accupress and Cincinnati), sheet metal fabrication equipment, and standard measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers are used regularly. The setting emphasizes organization, safety, and professionalism in a modern industrial workspace.

This is a Permanent position based out of Maple Grove, MN.

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
