Assistant Principal - 5th Grade

Job Location: VCP Sueno Park – Phoenix, AZ 85035. Position Type: Full Time. Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred. Salary Range: $64,000.00. Role Mission Vista Assistant Principals (APs) collaborate with the school’s Principal and leadership team to lead instructional and teacher coaching systems that drive dramatic academic gains and internalize Vista College Prep core values. The AP will coach a portfolio of teachers and staff, primarily for 5th grade at Sueno Park Middle School. Key Responsibilities Coach a portfolio of teachers and staff; plan and deliver professional development; hold teachers accountable for high academic and behavioral standards. Manage teachers’ administrative duties and school-wide tasks (report cards, classroom libraries). Support the Principal in overseeing the school’s instructional program, analyze achievement data, and use data to plan responsive professional development. Ensure students achieve dramatic gains and meet ambitious performance goals. Coordinate standardized assessment administration and evaluations. Teach and reinforce behavior management systems; build positive relationships with respect, enthusiasm, and dedication. Ensure behavioral expectations and culture standards are met inside and outside the classroom, including bus rides, cafeteria, enrichment, and dismissal. Communicate regularly with families about performance; respond to concerns promptly; support family meetings; participate in home visits. Collaborate with Principal and Leadership Team to reinforce data-centered achievement culture; lead or co-lead school-wide routines; improve coaching effectiveness; participate in additional activities such as field trips and support sessions. Strong organizational skills; ability to deliver on time amid many moving parts. Optimistic perseverant mindset. Excellent communication skills. Spanish proficiency or fluency preferred. Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school setting preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred; must obtain a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
