Inventory Analyst

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Process Engineering team in Manufacturing Operations as an Inventory Analyst in West Lafayette, Indiana. If you are looking to grow your career and are motivated by solving meaningful problems, you must be willing and able to travel during the first 4-6 months of employment for training, totaling approximately 8-12 weeks in two-week increments. As an Inventory Analyst you’ll be responsible for planning, selecting, scheduling and conducting component part cycle counts. You will also track progress toward annual cycle count plans. Responsibilities Perform scrap, purge, and outage investigations, and associative corrective transactions. Monitor monthly gap charts in areas of responsibility, as well as develop and perform action items. Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventory processes. Reconcile inventory part discrepancies and perform root cause analysis. Analyze BOM transactions, historical data and inventory reporting to monitor and improve inventory accuracy. Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. This job might be for you if: You have a High School Diploma or equivalent. You have two years’ related experience. You have experience using ERP systems to manage components, assembly, and finished good level inventories. You are proficient in MS Excel. You have superior organizational skills and high attention to detail. You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills. You can learn new skills and assume new responsibilities with a positive attitude. You can work cooperatively in a team environment. It is a plus if you have: Have two years' experience as an SEL Inventory Clerk. Intermediate level knowledge of SEL MFG areas and processes. Knowledge of SEL component part inventory. Intermediate level knowledge of SEL manufacturing processes and component part inventory. Intermediate level experience using Dataflo MRP software, and/or Microsoft AX ERP software. Physical Requirements Lift and maneuver 40 pounds regularly. Ability to walk, bend, crouch, stand, sit for long periods. Process Engineering and Maintenance teams focus on optimizing manufacturing performance by improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and increasing operational efficiency. Working closely with engineers, technicians, and operators, they support process improvement, root cause analysis, and preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives that help Manufacturing Operations make informed decisions and solve problems proactively. Pay Range: $26.74 - $39.52 per hour We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
