Assistant Director, Kessler Scholars Program

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring an Assistant Director for the Kessler Scholars Program. This role manages the program's overall operations, including administrative processes, communications, career immersion support, and partnership development, to support talented, limited-income, first-generation students from rural North Carolina. Highlights Lead administrative processes such as ordering, transactions, room reservations, hiring interns, stipend processing, and managing student trip and travel logistics. Manage program communications including newsletters, event updates, social media, and emails. Provide career immersion support and student consultations. Partner with students and community stakeholders to identify and create high impact opportunities. Review student applications for special funding and lead campus and community partnerships for professional development. Collaborate on scholar recruitment, event planning, reporting, and maintaining an annual calendar of operations. Required to attend monthly meetings with the Kessler Scholars Collaborative. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience, preferably with student development programming or mentoring experience and knowledge of low‑income, first‑generation student needs. Hourly pay starts at $23.00; full-time temporary position with 40 hours per week.
