Responsibilities: Semi-skilled maintenance operation position pertaining to the construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of County streets, storm drainage, facilities, and systems. Occasional operation of a variety of equipment. Working hours: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Mon.-Thurs.; OR 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Mon.-Fri.; must be able to work either shift and be available for emergency storm response. Location: Columbia, Missouri Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and one-year equipment operations or construction experience; Missouri driver's license; must receive a passing grade on the written portion of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) exam within 6 months of hire and be able to pass the driving portion of the Class B with air brakes CDL exam within 12 months of hire. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Proof of a valid driver's license is required at time of application. Preferred Skills: Class B CDL with Air Brakes. Two years of road construction experience. Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $19.69 (no CDL) - $22.77 (with CDL) per hour to start. Systematic pay increases up to $23.46 as early as 6 months based upon CDL status when hired.
