Electrician (Mechanic) and Lead Foreman Commercial & Warehouse Projects

This role supports commercial and warehouse electrical projects, focusing on conduit installation, service relocation, and high-volume warehouse and commercial systems. You will work full-time in a temp-to-perm capacity, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance and project needs. Experienced Electricians (Mechanics) will perform hands-on installation work, while the Lead/True Foreman will also supervise crews and coordinate project activities.

Responsibilities:

• Install, run, and secure conduit in commercial and warehouse environments, ensuring neat, code-compliant installations.
• Perform service relocations, including safely disconnecting, moving, and reconnecting electrical services as required by project scope.
• Bend pipe accurately using appropriate tools and techniques to support feeders, panels, and branch circuits.
• Install feeders, panels, switches, lighting, and electrical outlets according to plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Pull wire and cable through conduit and raceways, verifying correct routing, labeling, and terminations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in commercial and warehouse systems to maintain safe and reliable operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to plan and execute electrical installations.
• Work efficiently in active construction environments, coordinating tasks with other trades and project stakeholders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety procedures and using appropriate PPE.
• Document work performed and communicate progress, issues, and material needs to project leadership.
• Collaborate with experienced leads and project managers to meet project milestones and quality standards.
• For Lead/True Foreman: Supervise crews of approximately 5-10 electricians and laborers, assigning tasks and monitoring productivity.
• For Lead/True Foreman: Coordinate daily work plans with project managers, ensuring schedules, deadlines, and project priorities are met.
• For Lead/True Foreman: Conduct on-site safety checks, verify OSHA and lift compliance, and promote safe work practices.
• For Lead/True Foreman: Provide on-the-job guidance, training, and support to crew members to develop their skills and maintain workmanship quality.

Essential Skills:

• At least 35 years of commercial or industrial electrician experience, with a strong focus on commercial and warehouse projects.
• Proven Mechanic Electrician experience performing hands-on installation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to bend pipe accurately and efficiently for a variety of commercial and warehouse applications.
• Demonstrated experience installing feeders, panels, switches, lighting, and electrical outlets.
• Proficiency working with conduit systems, including layout, installation, and terminations.
• Minimum OSHA 10 certification, with a strong commitment to jobsite safety.
• Valid lift certifications for operating aerial lifts or similar equipment as required by the job.
• Strong commercial and warehouse electrical experience, including exposure to high-volume systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to take ownership of assigned tasks.
• Proven ability to lead and manage crews of approximately 5-10 workers when required.
• Ability to meet project deadlines and coordinate effectively with project managers and other stakeholders.
• For Lead/True Foreman: Current CPR certification.

• Comfort reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, plans, and specifications.

• Reliability and consistency in attendance, punctuality, and meeting project commitments.
• Interest in ongoing skills development, including pursuing additional certifications and training with reimbursement support.

Work Environment:

The work is based out of a facility in the Hawthorne area, with projects located throughout New Jersey on commercial buildings and warehouse sites. You will work full-time hours on active construction and operational facilities, typically as part of a larger electrical contractors project teams. The environment involves field-based work that includes being on ladders, lifts, and in various indoor and semi-outdoor conditions, depending on the project. You will use standard electrical tools and equipment, including pipe benders, lifts, and test instruments, while adhering to OSHA 10 and lift safety requirements. Assignments often run 4-6 months on a temporary basis, with high-performing electricians and foremen being converted to permanent roles. Dress and attire must be appropriate for a construction jobsite, including required personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, work boots, and other PPE as specified by site safety rules.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Perth Amboy, NJ.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
