POSITION TITLE Accountant, Alternative Investment Accounting POSITION LOCATION Richmond, VA This position is available to Virginia residents as Richmond, Virginia in-office applicants *A Hybrid schedule of both Remote and In-Office days is required. In office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with working hours targeting our core business hours of 9am-5pm EST. YOUR ROLE As an Investments team member, you’ll play a key role in the innovative investment strategies that enable our company and our financial products to serve our customers and their families when they need us most – now and in the future. What you will be doing Support accurate U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting for the organization’s Alternative Assets investment portfolio, supporting large scale projects, developing and maintaining robust internal controls framework Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for our alternative assets portfolio Research and review of accounting guidance to assess existing processes – identifying potential efficiencies and/or gaps in current business processes Perform assigned accounting responsibilities, including account reconciliations, transaction reviews, loan pricing analysis, real estate owned accounting, and journal entry and financial reporting preparation. Partner with the Finance Teams across all product lines and assist in the development and execution of Investment strategies Collaborate cross-functionally to create efficiencies and deliver superior business results Support accounting policy implementation and strategic business process redesign efforts Help maintain SOX controls documentation and evaluate deficiency risks through on-going review and validation of key operational processes Perform other duties as assigned What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related discipline CPA is preferred 2-5 years of U.S. GAAP and/or U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting experience Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional groups and communicate complex information clearly Ability to balance multiple projects at once and prioritize appropriately Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Outstanding communication and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities Skills including MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot) Employee Benefits & Well-Being Genworth employees make a difference in people’s lives every day. National Range: $68,900 - $103,000 Disclaimer: This role is aligned to a national market-based pay range. Actual compensation will vary based on geographic location, experience, skills, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in a bonus incentive plan. Incentive compensation is based on individual and company performance and is not guaranteed.
