Shop Technician - Odessa (Heavy Equipment)

Shop TechnicianCisco Equipment Rentals is seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment in a shop environment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Repairs:Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy construction, agricultural, and material handling equipmentDiagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and complete repairs efficientlyDetermine parts, tools, and repair methods required for each jobDiagnostics & Parts Coordination:Work with the Shop Foreman or Service Manager to assess equipment repair needsOrder necessary parts through the parts department and track order statusFollow up on parts availability to minimize repair delaysDocumentation & Time Tracking:Accurately complete time records for each job, including clocking in and out as requiredMaintain clear and accurate service records to support billing and internal reportingSafety & Compliance:Follow all company safety policiesEnsure all tools and equipment are safe and in proper working condition before useReport any workplace injuries or safety concerns promptlyShop Organization & Teamwork:Maintain a clean and organized work area in and around the shopAssist other technicians as needed and contribute to a team-oriented environmentPerform additional duties as assignedRequirementsQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical certification in heavy equipment maintenance or mechanics preferredExperience:2+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repairExperience with construction, agricultural, or material handling equipment preferredTechnical Knowledge:Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systemsAbility to diagnose and repair equipment efficientlySkills:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesGood organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamTools:Must provide a complete set of personal tools up to ½" driveCompany provides specialty tools, larger equipment, and diagnostic toolsPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and move heavy parts and tools (up to 75 lbs.)Ability to work in a shop environment, including exposure to noise and varying conditionsWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly wages with opportunities for overtimeComprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plansCompany-provided specialty tools and equipmentOngoing training and development opportunitiesSign-On Bonus:This position is eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus, paid as follows:$1,500 after 30 days of employment$1,500 after 6 months of employmentReferral Bonus:This position is eligible for the company's Employee Referral Bonus Program.
