A family in Auburndale is seeking a reliable, proactive part-time nanny/family assistant to become a trusted part of their household. This long-term position is focused on afternoon childcare, school transportation, and household support for two children, ages 8 and 4. The ideal candidate is organized, independent, and enjoys helping a family stay on track while creating a positive and engaging environment for the children.

Requirements 

• Non-smoking/vaping
• 3+ years of relevant childcare experience
• Clean driving record
• Up-to-date CPR/First Aid preferred
• Tdap, flu, and COVID vaccinations preferred

Responsibilities

• Pick up children from school (around 4/430) and transport them home or to activities
• Provide engaging afternoon care with a focus on active play and age-appropriate activities
• Prepare simple family dinners and children’s snacks/lunches
• Assist with family laundry 
• Help manage children’s calendars, activities, sports equipment, and special occasions
• Complete local errands including shopping, and returns
• Assist with dinner cleanup while parents handle bedtime routines
• Provide general family assistant support to help keep the household running smoothly

About the Family

This family is seeking a long-term nanny/family assistant to support their household and care for their two children, ages 8 and 4. The role will focus primarily on afternoon childcare, school transportation, activities, and helping the family stay organized during their busy week. One child is immunocompromised, so the family is looking for someone who is mindful of limiting exposure to crowded indoor spaces when appropriate; however, there are no day-to-day medical care responsibilities involved. One parent works from home two days per week in a separate office space, and the nanny will have the independence and autonomy to manage the afternoon routine. The family is looking for someone who will become a trusted part of their household for years to come. 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and comfortable managing a busy afternoon schedule, especially when it comes to school pick-ups and children’s activities. They should be able to work independently, take ownership of household responsibilities, and proactively look for ways to support the family’s needs. Strong communication skills, organization, and the ability to anticipate changes or challenges are important for success in this role. Travel with the family is not required, but candidates who are open to occasional travel would be a wonderful addition, as the family would love for their nanny to join them on future trips.

Position Details
Location: Auburndale
Start Date: November 1 (flexible for the right fit)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, afternoons (approximately 1:00 PM–7:00 PM)
Hours: Guaranteed 30 hours/week (would add additional hours for the right fit)
Compensation: $37–$42/hour BOE; taxes withheld 
Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation, 1 week paid sick time, paid holidays, healthcare stipend
