Sr. Sales Engineer

Eaton’s North American Sales division is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join their team in Chandler, AZ. This role focuses on electrical distribution within the commercial construction market. Join Our Team: Making a Difference at Eaton The primary function of the Sales Engineer is to sell assigned product lines to targeted customers in targeted market areas. This position will be responsible for achieving the assigned sales goal consistent with the expectations of a seasoned professional sales engineer for the assigned product categories while operating with minimal supervision. The role will optimize sales volume, product mix and profit margin, while increasing sales in the marketplace. It will coordinate sales for the assigned customer and distributor base and manage all aspects of the customer relationship, providing sales and technical assistance to distributors, customers, end users, and specifiers. What you’ll do: Build relationships with key customers and channel partners to enhance long-term business prospects Execute sales plans to meet performance expectations and requirements Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines while using sound business judgment Collaborate cross functionally with product lines, operations, and other internal stakeholders to provide customer centric solutions Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities while communicating such information to product divisions Assist teammates on training Channel on Eaton Products and Electronic Tools Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits to drive data based decisions Provide accurate and timely planning and specification interpretation, quotation, and technical support Plan promotional events and presentations with distributor personnel to promote Eaton’s position, while developing a proven record of achieving assigned sales goals Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution Minimum three (3) years of technical or commercial field experience Construction industry experience with understanding of project timelines, critical milestones, and general awareness of construction documentation, plans and specifications Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license Eaton will not consider applicants for immigration sponsorship or support for this position No relocation benefit is being offered; only candidates within a 50 mile radius of Chandler, AZ will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Experience with interpreting one line or single line diagram Electrical power distribution knowledge and experience Skills General knowledge of Eaton Electrical product and service capabilities Ability to build trust and relationships with various types of people Ability to anticipate and be proactive on customer needs Ability to leverage internal stakeholders to meet customer and organizational needs Ability to learn and utilize digital tools and proprietary software Technical problem‑solving, communication, customer service, time management, presentation, planning, interpersonal and teamwork skills Understanding of sales processes The compensation range for this full‑time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $107,250 - 157,300. Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
