Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant in our Pain Management department, you will operate within a hospital setting, interacting closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and specialists. The role offers a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for work-life balance while ensuring the delivery of vital healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and diagnoses for patients with chronic pain, identifying candidates for interventional procedures.
• Formulate and manage deep treatment plans for patients, utilizing both medication management and interventional strategies.
• Prescribe medications tailored to therapeutic goals, clearly communicating treatment protocols to both patients and their families.
• Perform physical examinations and leverage diagnostic tests, including laboratory, X-ray, and other pertinent procedures, following established protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to devise optimal care strategies.
• Continuously monitor and assess patients' health status to ensure effective management and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work mainly with patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, often presenting complex medical histories and requiring comprehensive, individualized care. You will play a crucial role in alleviating patient suffering and improving their quality of life, focusing on populations that are often underserved and may face barriers to effective pain management.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution.
• Active state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• Minimum of three years of experience working in a healthcare setting, ideally in pain management or a related field.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team.
• A strong dedication to ethical practice and patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Five years of relevant work experience as a Physician Assistant, specifically in pain management.

Compensation and Benefits
