Our physicians are board certified ophthalmologists by the American board of Ophthalmology and completed an additional two-year vitreoretinal surgical fellowship in diseases of the retina, macular, and vitreous. Position Summary Responsible for assisting the ophthalmologist by gathering data pertaining to the patient’s ocular health status. The ophthalmic technician is proficient in performing appropriate clinical tests, drawing on formal education and/or clinical experience that provide a solid understanding of the theory and principles of eye care. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL –DUTIES Clinical Reviews patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy of information. Accurately document patient visual complaint and/or patient history. Accurately record medical and surgical data into electronic medical records Obtain and record patient's visual acuity, intraocular pressure and all required exam elements into EMR Administers topical ophthalmic medications under the direction of the physician. Ability to assist with in-office procedures ensures proper informed consent is obtained. Assists with patient education. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms during the workday. Complies with all practice procedures and protocols. Complies with all State and Federal regulations. Administrative Report inventory and supply needs to leadership for timely ordering. Help maintain supply room organized and stocked Participate in daily team huddles and regularly scheduled meetings as planned and required. Understand and accept responsibility to report potential or suspected errors to supervisor or Compliance Officer Contribute to the team effort by completing additional tasks or projects as needed. Maintain positive attitude consisting of cooperation, self-motivation, courtesy, and professionalism Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or the equivalent years related experience preferred Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred Must be willing and able to travel between assigned office locations Reliable transportation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
