Position Summary

The Coding Manager leads coding team performance by developing frontline leaders, improving workflow consistency, and using quality trends to guide practical action. This role supports accurate, timely coding delivery while ensuring material risks are surfaced with clear context and next steps.

Qualifications

Required

• Active professional coding certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of coding experience, with experience leading coding teams, supervisors, or multi-account coding operations.
• Ability to coach leaders, assign ownership, and drive outcomes through others.
• Working knowledge of coding quality, documentation requirements, and risk escalation practices.
• Strong communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in a production-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities and Expected Performance Outcomes

Key Responsibilities

• Lead coding performance across assigned teams, accounts, and supervisors.
• Coach Coding Account Supervisors to manage team performance, priorities, and issue resolution.
• Define ownership, decision boundaries, and escalation expectations for coding work.
• Use audit results and operational data to correct issues and prevent repeat errors.
• Escalate material coding, staffing, quality, or client-impact risks with clear context and recommended next steps.
• Develop leadership capability and succession readiness within the coding team.

Expected Performance Outcomes

• Coding teams meet accuracy, quality, timeliness, and production expectations consistently.
• Recurring quality or process issues are identified early, addressed at the root cause, and monitored for improvement.
• Escalations are timely, well-documented, and focused on risk, impact, and recommended action.
• The coding team has stronger leadership depth and improved readiness for growth or change.
