Patient Care NavigatorNeurology Institute of Kerrville/Boerne is a busy neurology practice serving San Antonio, Kerrville, and Boerne, TX seeking a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join their team at their Boerne location. In this pivotal role you will guide patients in coordination of their care to outside physician practices/facilities by sending out referrals, medical records, and obtaining prior authorizations for MRIs. Experience in eClinicalWorks is a plus and experience in obtaining prior authorizations is essential.Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00/hour5% Annual Bonus Potential - Paid Quarterly (Performance Based)Private Equity for the Greater Good - Company-wide Employee Ownership ProgramBenefits Offered:Medical, Dental, VisionHSA w/ Employer ContributionTouchcare - Insurance Concierge Service401K with Match up to 4%PTO: Accrual 3+ weeksPTO Buy-back, PTO Rollover, and PTO Donation Program.Wellness Reimbursement Program - $360 AnnuallyEmployee Referral Bonus - Uncapped Bonus PotentialTuition Assistance Program & Professional Association ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (Employer-provided)Short & long-term disability (Employer-provided)Life Insurance (Employer-provided)Employment Type, Schedule, FLSA Status:Full-TimePosition Schedule: Monday- Friday | 8:00am-5:00pmFLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Clinical Operations ManagerLocation: 1580 S Main St STE 101B Boerne,TX 78006Primary responsibilities:Performs a variety of patient care activities rendering quality patients in accordance with standards of practice.Room clinic patients in person or virtually and update patient chart with the required informationCommunicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses to ensure quality and continuity of patient careProvide administrative and front-end support: Greet patients, assist with scheduling, manage phone calls (incoming and outgoing), and process payments.Oversees and ensures efficient turnover of exam roomsAssist provider in the exam room as requestedCollect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens as directed.Assist Patient Services team as needed to obtain prior authorizations for prescribed treatment's and documents.Triage patient phone calls and messages and document them appropriatelyOrders and manages supplies under the direction of managerDisinfect and stock the exam rooms.Assist in obtaining records required for the patient's chartDemonstrate effective communication skills, reporting patient issues as needed throughout the treatment day.Follow company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control.Secondary responsibilities:Assist with proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.Maintain confidentiality of all company and patient records. Adhere to HIPPA.Communicates schedule changes to the team and assists with rescheduling patients.Manages incoming mail and deliveries.Qualifications:High school graduate or equivalent, required.Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred.CPR/BLS, required.6 months of clinical experience, required.Experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus1 year in an administrative or customer service role, preferred.Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred.A caring and compassionate personalityGreat customer and patient serviceAbility to multitask and work under pressureExcellent communication skillsAssist with Referrals/Progress Notes/Medical Records/Prior Authorizations for MRIsAssist MDs and NPsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
