Manufacturing Process Engineer TekPro is partnered with a leading aerospace contract manufacturer in the Kansas City area in their search for a Process Engineer! This is a permanent opportunity with a high-growth machining and assembly manufacturer for major aerospace OEMs. Overview Position Summary: The Manufacturing Process Engineer develops and maintains manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies. This role reviews engineering drawings, specifications, models, and customer requirements to create manufacturing plans, define production methods, establish inspection requirements, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The position works closely with estimating, programming, quality, purchasing, and production teams to support efficient and compliant manufacturing operations. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, aerospace manufacturing, CNC machining, production planning, or a related technical manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of machining processes, manufacturing routing, and process documentation. Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models (CATIA experience preferred). Knowledge of aerospace special processes, assembly methods, material testing requirements, and AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation. Experience with manufacturing ERP systems; Global Shop Solutions preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities Review customer drawings, specifications, models, and contractual requirements to develop manufacturing processes and production plans. Define manufacturing sequences, routings, materials, work centers, inspection requirements, and outside processing needs. Coordinate with estimating, programming, purchasing, quality, and production teams to support manufacturing execution. Create and maintain routers, part masters, work instructions, inspection documentation, bubble drawings, and AS9102 FAI packages. Identify and communicate customer-required special processes, certifications, and approved supplier requirements. Support quality planning, risk assessment, root cause investigations, and corrective actions. Update manufacturing documentation based on engineering changes, production feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.
